Vadodara Literature Fest


The Vadodara Literature Festival, a literary extravaganza hosted by Parul University in association with India's International Movement to Unite Nations, was hosted on the 10th and 11th of May. The festival hosted over 50 authors across 15 panels, ranging from gender inclusivity, the armed forces, romance, biopics, mythology, food and India. The festival was inaugurated by the I.I.M.U.N. Board of Advisors, actor and philanthropist Ms Shabana Azmi, who spoke on democracy and literature. The festival's other keynote speakers included some of India's finest in the field - Mr Chetan Bhagat, Mr Durjoy Dutta, Ms Tahira Kashyap, and Chef Pankaj Bhadouria, who launched her latest book at the Vadodara Literature Festival. Other authors present included Mr Aalok Srivastav, Mr Suvir Saran, Mr Irfan Habib, Ms Ramya Subrmaninam, Dr Jaishree Sharad, Mr Parmesh Shahani, amongst other reputed authors from across the length and breadth of India and beyond! The Vadodara Literature Festival was a festival by young people for young people intending to make tier 2 and 3 India, read, and also make literature festivals a thing of smaller towns. The festival witnessed a diverse student crowd in attendance. In all, the two days in Vadodara will remain a landmark event for the city and has set the ball rolling to make literature festivals younger and more egalitarian and, more importantly, to make young India read!
