The Social and Economic War

The Second World War was the most critical and deadliest war the world has ever seen. The rise of World War II was started by the time of the First World War in 1914. In Europe the conditions were not stable and this all set the stage for the Second World War and it started only two decades after the First World War and it was more horrifying and devastating than the First World War. Germany at that time was economically as well as politically unstable and wanted to capture the whole world and hold it. Adolf Hitler leader of the Nazi party shake the hands with Italy and Japan to destroy their enemy in the Tripartite Act in 1940.

The war started when Germany invaded Poland and due to the major attack, Great Britain and France declared war on Germany at the beginning of World War II. It is believed that the treaty of Versailles brought World War 1 to end and this was the treaty that was signed by the allied forces and Germany. The treaty said that Germany was responsible for the starting of war and harsh penalties were imposed on Germany that is the loss of territories, overseas colonies, demilitarization in Germany, and massive payments. The growth of economic distress and resentment of the treaty led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party.

There were 14 points in the treaty. The European allied forces forced Germany to surrender 10% of their territories, 75% of coal, and the war guilt clause for Germany to accept that they let the start of the war.

In 1933 Adolf Hitler became the chancellor of Germany he was obsessed with the idea of pure breed German which are also called pure Nordic Aryans and he only wanted Aryans to expand Germany not impure blood like Jews. Hitler secretly began the treatment in Germany which was a violation of the treaty of Versailles and collaborated with Italy and Japan to have a war against the Soviet Union although he had signed a non-aggression treaty which the Soviet Union had decided to attack the Soviet Union in 1941.

Hitler had a long plan for an investor in Poland that was supported by Great Britain and France. In September 1939 Hitler invaded Poland and just after a few days, France and Britain declared war on Germany and this marked the beginning of World War II. In May 1940 both Germany and allied forces had divided control over the nation and gradually Germany invaded occupied Denmark and Norway. France was on the verge of collapse at that time and Italy took advantage of this as Italy’s fascist dictator at that time allied with Hitler and declared war against France and Britain. Later on, German forces entered Paris and at that time in Paris, a new government was formed by Petain. France subsequently divided into two zones, one under the German military and II under the newly formed government.

Hitler’s focus shifted to Britain which had the advantage of being separated by the continent of the English Channel. In September 1940 German plans bombard Britain which is known as the blitz. All this caused heavy damage to the common people of the country. There were nitrates in London which caused civilian casualties.

The royal air force of Britain eventually defeated the German force which is known as the Luftwaffe in the battle of Britain and after this tragedy, Hitler postponed his plans to invade Britain. By the beginning of 1941 Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria had to join hands with German troops. Hitler’s real objective was to the conquest of the Balkans as it would be the invasion of the Soviet Union as Hitler needed Balkans for the German development and the other half strategy where’s the extermination of the Jews population through death camps are also known as concentration camps established in Poland. In June 1941 Hitler invaded the Soviet Union and the mission was named “Operation Barbarossa “. Soviet Union military and aircraft greatly outnumber the Germans.

Britain was facing Germany in Europe and the United States was the only capable nation combating Japanese aggression and by this time a major incident happened on December 7, 1941, Japanese aircraft at the major US naval place at pearl harbor in Hawaii. The Americans were surprised by the attack and the lives of 2500 troops were destroyed and the attack pushed America to enter the war and with only one dissenting vote America declared war on Japan. German and other forces promptly declared war on the United States. There was a line of Japanese victories but the US Pacific fleet won the battle midway in 1942 and that was a turning point in the war at that time allied naval forces began an aggressive counterattack against Japan as assaults on the Japanese islands in the Pacific. This was the island-hopping strategy and it became successful and they moved closer to the step of invading Japan.

British and American forces had defeated the Italians and Germans by 1943 and in the Eastern front Soviet Union ended the battle of Stalingrad and because of the bloody winter there was a shortage of food and medical supplies for the German troops and they had no other option rather surrender on January 31, 1943. June 6 1944 is celebrated as “D-Day “, allies begin invading Europe as Hitler put all his strength into Western Europe as Germany got defeated in the west badly.

By February 1945 allied forces invaded Germany and in May 1945 Germany formally surrendered and Soviet forces occupied much of the country and Hitler committed suicide on April 30 in Berlin Bunker with his wife Eva Braun. Heavy casualties happened in early August. US President Truman authorized the use of a new weapon that was developed during a top-secret operation named as Manhattan project – the atomic bomb dropped on the cities of Japan in Hiroshima and Nagasaki which destroyed the lives of many Japanese people. World War II  proved to be the deadliest international conflict in history which took the lives of 60 to 80 million including 6 million Jews and up to 1 million polish died at concentration camps and it was the global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945.
