OTHER PROJECTS

ONGOING

Apart from school level, national, international and championship conferences I.I.M.U.N. does a plethora of other projects. Some of them are as mentioned below:

Vadodara Literature Festival

I.I.M.U.N. endeavors to make literature festivals localized. The aim is to cultivate a reading habit among the younger generation and encourage them to read Indian authors without polarizing their minds. This literature festival features over 50+ authors from diverse genres, including mental health, gender studies, culture, history, business, sciences, armed forces, and nonfiction, with the aim of getting leaders of tomorrow to read today. Hosted in association with Parul University, Vadodara, the literature festival has attracted thousands of student spectators and bibliophiles to meet and interact with literary icons. Prominent authors who have spoken include Devdutt Pattanaik, Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Dutta, Ashwin Sanghi, Amish Tripathi and Shabana Azmi amongst many others. With pro bono entry for all students, the Literature Festival has become a favorite amongst teenagers across the city.

In 2024 - 2025, the festival will be larger than ever, including a first-of-its-kind Literature Tank - where budding authors can present their manuscript ideas to publishers and get real-time responses on being published. This is in addition to opening itself to students in high schools nationally by offering free boarding, lodging, and meals for the first few hundred who register to participate.

Leadership Tours

Leadership tours serve as a bridge between the existing educational curriculum and the 21st-century life skills needed in the workplace. Primarily created for 20-30 high school and college students, these immersive real-life experiences offer selected students from across India the chance to meet industry leaders and study their setups. These educational tours include business, hospitality, legal, fashion, science and technology, amongst others. I.I.M.U.N. Clubs

On our journey of building a Movement to Unite Nations, we are pleased to offer K-12 institutions an opportunity to establish an I.I.M.U.N. Club in their school for free. I.I.M.U.N. will guide you in replacing/setting up a MUN club with an I.I.M.U.N. Club and provide free yearly resources to teach students. Since the inception of this initiative in 2023, we have already set up clubs in 10,000+ schools across India and the world.

The club is divided into two parts for Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12, focusing on communication skills, leadership, Indian politics, current affairs, and international studies. It is led by a teacher who will receive the necessary materials and regular training sessions. If the school so desires, I.I.M.U.N. can recommend faculty who can teach at the school as well. Teacher Coordinators and Club Presidents enjoy perks at I.I.M.U.N. conferences, and participating schools receive exclusive invitations to various I.I.M.U.N. events. Regular reports from Teacher Coordinators and Club Presidents ensure quality education within the club, which functions to kindle Indian thought in all students, while building glocal leaders.

Role Model Series

In a day and age where everything is about instant gratification and changing definitions of role models, the idea is to have school children exposed to those who inspire not just because of their distinguished and hardworking careers but also because of the way they conduct themselves. The series focuses on the lives of these Role Models who are living embodiments of age-old Indian values such as simplicity and humility.

Started during the pandemic as an online series, we have moved I.I.M.U.N.’s Role Model Series into an interactive platform for students to meet and learn from the life stories of their role models. Hosted in one central location and open to school students from across that city, we currently organise this in Mumbai and Srinagar. The program aims to have students interact with luminaries from various walks of life, learn, be inspired, and follow in the footsteps of these role models. A pro-bono effort by I.I.M.U.N., the offline in-person series has brought the likes of Dia Mirza, Mukesh Batra, Harsh Mariwala, Anu Aga, Malini Agarwal, and many others together.

One Week for One World

Launched in 2020 - I.I.M.U.N.'s awareness drive and petition to prevent climate change has received more than 10,00,000+ signatures endorsing dedicating 1 week of the year to the environment. Championed by Sonakshi Sinha, this is an annual campaign where students organize clean-ups, plantation drives, and 7-day home-based eco-friendly initiatives around 5th June 2024.

Back to School Series

An initiative where we get schools from across the country and the world on one platform by connecting them via video conferencing. This is done such that leaders of today get to interact and impart leadership and life lessons to leaders of tomorrow in one go. Number of students includes 50,000-5,00,000. These special interactions are very rare. Guests in this series have included the likes of Karan Johar & Late Former President of India - Pranab Mukherjee!
